Palermo Photography Workshop

Get Lost In Palermo / 7-13 September 2024

The Palermo Photography Workshop is an intensive 6-day course consisting of practical sessions, group and individual reviews focussed on enabling the participants to develop their understanding in producing and editing their current work and producing their new series shot during the workshop.
The well-intentioned provocation “Get Lost In Palermo” invites photographers to get out of their comfort zone and discover a new environment to rediscover the pleasure of taking photos and connect to a place and its people.
The vibrant backdrop presented by Palermo’s multilayered and rich history will offer participant photographers the possibilities to engage in a stimulating journey of discovery while having fun with a group of like-minded individuals.
Award-winning photographer Mimi Mollica and Art Director and book designer Ramon Pez will encourage you to hone your observation skills, acquire a deeper understanding of the photobook and develop a personal vision, through a series of fun tasks and assignments that will together enable you to create a new series of photographs.
The evening sessions, consisting of peer reviews and group critiques, will aim to establish a visual narrative through the trajectories proposed by the individual photographers in the class. Mimi and Ramon, who will stay the first three days, will reinforce key elements on narrative and the structure of a photographic series.
